• Although most people call them all “peacocks,” technically only male peafowl are called peacocks. Female peafowl are referred to as peahen and babies are peachicks!

• Peafowls are members of the pheasant family.

• A group of peafowl is called an ostentation, or a pride—very appropriate for this showy bird

• Their length (including tail) can reach 5 feet.
