The American-type windmill was developed in 1854 by Daniel Halliday. This design was ideal for settlers on the plains.

Homesteaders, farmers, and ranchers were no longer dependent on natural water as they could drill wells and pump water. It was actually the original wind power!

This Wind Mill has been on the farm long before the Raasch family bought the property. We think it’s been here since the 1930's.

Pumpkin donuts are a guest favorite and made fresh daily.

In 2019 on a busy Saturday we made over 10,000 donuts.

Our donuts are made using a Belshaw Mark 6 machine, our very special donut mix, plus a lot of love!

On the silo near the Donut House, you can find several educational posters such as “How A Plant Grows” and “Plants Make Food” to look at and learn from.

As for the produce you can find at the Pumpkin Patch -- pumpkins, gourds, and squash – they all start from seeds and grow on vines. Pumpkins and squash can be cooked or baked and eaten. Pumpkins and gourds are used for decorations. Pumpkins are planted in June and harvested in September/October.

At the farm, we grow most of the produce that we sell but partner with local farmers for the rest.
